Libraries and their staffs are working tirelessly to serve families where they live, work, and play within their communities. On September 25 at the 2018 Families Learning Conference, the National Center for Families Learning (NCFL) held a series of expert-led lightning talks describing innovative programming that takes family literacy and engagement beyond the four walls of library buildings. Expert speakers from across the country presented: Scott Allen, Public Library Association; Liz Atack, Nashville Public Library; Klem-Marí Cajigas, Nashville Public Library; Jo Giudice, Dallas Public Library; Pam Jankowski, Cuyahoga County Public Library; Ellin Klor, Santa Clara City Library; Kelvin Watson, Broward County Public Library.
